About Us

Our Practice

Premier Pilates was established in 2009. Our practice is conveniently located in a peaceful and secure residential area in central Durbanville Hills. We offer a distinctive variety of quality equipment and a maximum of clients per group mat class in order to ensure that each client receives personal assistance. We also offer private, semi-private and reformer sessions.

 

Our experienced practitioners are passionate about Pilates and dedicated to improving the well-being of our clients. We offer classes to clients of all age groups and fitness levels at an affordable rate. Our professional approach to Pilates is supported by our frequent referrals from local physiotherapists and chiropractors to our practice.

Our Team

 

As a young adult, Debbie trained in various disciplines of dance, and completed her teacher’s qualification in RAD Ballet and IDTA Modern dance. After 20 years teaching experience in the fitness industry she discovered the unique benefits of the Pilates method. She founded Premier Pilates in 2009 and it wasn’t long before the practice established a diverse client base. She completed her Pilates qualification in 2010 through Stellenbosch University Sports Science Institute (SUSPI). Debbie specializes in rehabilitative Pilates and has worked with numerous clients over the years, helping to improve their conditions. She firmly believes in the “Science of Pilates” and her experience ensures that each movement in her class is driven by correct technique and precision.

Kendall completed her Pilates qualification in 2010 through Stellenbosch University Sport Science Institute (SUSPI).  She gained her initial experience in Pilates through part-time assistance at a physiotherapy practice in Bellville. After completing her BComm degree through Stellenbosch University she decided to combine her business knowledge with her love for the science of Pilates and joined Premier Pilates.   She specializes in training athletes in the Pilates method and is passionate about assisting sportsmen and women and enhancing their athletic performance. She believes in a professional approach and a constant drive towards improvement of her practice.

What we offer

Semi-Private Classes

Semi-private classes are tailored classes to accommodate between 1 and 4 clients.

45 minutes

Reformer Private or Semi-Private Classes

Our Pilates Reformer is a resistance and pulley-based machined designed for rehabilitative work or take your mat work to the next level.

45/60 minutes

Group Mat Classes

Our Pilates mat work classes are specialised in nature with a maximum of 8 clients per class.

50-60 minutes

Private Classes

Private class bookings are on an individual basis and are appointment-based.

Our Payment Policy

1. Payment is acceptable via cash or EFT.

2. Payment is due in advance by the 5th of each month.

3. One calendar month's paid notice is required should you wish to cancel your classes.

 

HOW TO JOIN

How to join

New clients are required to attend an introductory assessment. The objective of the assessment is to ensure that our practitioners understand your body’s specific needs, such as: any previous/current injuries, muscle imbalances, joint issues and prescribed/contraindicated movements. Our practitioners will perform a postural analysis, movement assessment and equip you to enter a group class environment, whereby you will be able to follow us with ease and enjoy your classes. Our fee structure and general practice etiquette will be discussed. At the end of your session we will make a decision as to your future training needs.

 

STEP 1:   

Contact us to make an appointment for your introductory assessment.

 

STEP 2:

Dress comfortably (in order to move easily) and bring along any medical records relating to back/neck/knee injuries etc to your appointment.

We prefer to work barefoot or with socks on.

 

STEP 3:

At the end of your assessment we will discuss the need for further private sessions and/or placement into an available group class.
